I love the first tip, smart hook sentences are a must.  These are going to be your page titles.  They need to be catchy and grab attention.

This is a long infographic but try not to let it intimidate you.

Google tests new Nearby Events and Deals feature in SERPS for local businesses - Search Engine Land
It's worth keeping an eye on this.  I suspect, but don't know for sure, that this content is coming from the business updates on Google Business Profile.
